Yesterday was the first training after almost 2 months.
It was great seeing my fellow senior cheerleaders. It was simply cosy, warm, and familiar.
But it saddens me to see the seniors' number decreases as they moved on to other committments and responsibilities in life. I'm sure they wanna cheer longer in Spectrum. I know cheerleading cannot be much of a career in Singapore. I know it is impossible to cheer till we are 40. I know, I know...
I just wish we could stick together for a longer time.
There are, of course, new blood recruited. I'm more than happy to include them into this new family, and teach them everything I know. It makes me smile whenever the juniors improved.
But it also serves as a reminder that I would have to move on soon and leave the team to the new generation.
Edward is looking forward to the day I stop cheering. I have to, sooner or later, and maybe I would start shooting some netballs again.
But until then, I am a Spectrum cheerleader.
